Though I'm not sure if I should say AMV when my fandom is as far from anime as it is possible to get while still being animated. At least Juji's KH videos are still Japanese... but ah, whatever. AMV. Yep, jumping on the bandwagon here and making my own topic. What? Loading songs and Nicktoon episodes into Windows Movie Maker and spending the night pressing buttons on it is FUN. And so THERE. I tried doing it in Vegas, but I got confused and gave up. I'd spend ten times as long making something that's not much better. But anyway, on with the links (WARNING! IRK IS ABOUT TO TALK ABOUT HERSELF A LOT!):
Song: "Ballad For You" by NM feat. Thomas Howard
Show: Catscratch
Ship?: Gordon/Kimberly
Comments: Why, looking at this video and my av/sig set, you'd think I was obsessed with those two! >.> *cough* *dons her freak badge* This one was a test to see what would happen if I mashed buttons on WMM for a few hours. RESULT! Between it being my first, the fact that I didn't have many clips available to me at the time, and the stupid watermarks on the clips, I'm not fond of this one at all. It stays on my account because BECAUSE. MOVING ON.
Song: "Cubis" by Bis/Data Panik
Show: Catscratch
Ship?: Blik/Katilda
Comments: My favorite of 'em all. ...this is not saying much when I' haven't made many and you consider what the others are. Wish I had more than two episodes to work with, but that's Nick's fault, not mine. But hey, no more watermark! FUN! ...someone actually commented on Manda Rin's MySpace with a link to this. I was greatly amused.
Song: "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred
Show: Catscratch
Ship?: Blik/Katilda for a grand total of five seconds
Comments: ...do I need to say anything else? o.o It was fun to make, but... WHAT. WAS. I. THINKING. XD Back in its original YouTube days, this one had a CN Seal Of Approval. Yhey! And now it's back because I cheated!
Song: "The Me Song" by The Arrogant Worms
Show: Catscratch
Ship?: Blik/Katilda on an even lower scale than "I'm Too Sexy"
Comments: As soon as I found sound clips for The Arrogant Worms' new album, "Torpid", I knew "The Me Song" HAD to become a Blikvid as soon as I got my hands on the album. IT. HAD. TO. And so it has! Yeah, I lied about stopping until I had all the episodes, but now I have three more than I did last time, so, er... better? OK, I'll stop now. Not much else to say. Blikvid is fun. Now go buy "Torpid".
Song: "Nothing's Missing" by SMiLE.dk
Show: Catscratch
Ship? Gordon/Kimberly
Comments: Yep, another Gordon/Kimberly vid. May this make up for the mess that was Ballad For You. I'm improving. Slowly. I think. At least I had a LOT more clips to choose from and no watermark. ...I think it's cute. =3
Song: A LOT
Show: Catscratch. Still.
Ship?: Gordon/Kimberly and Blik/Katilda are both represented
Comments: I obviously have too much free time - this video uses clips from SIXTEEN different songs! But hey, seven are bubblegum!
Warrior by Tiggy
Bang Bang by Zynergy
Cool by Machoman
Happy Girl by Bubbles
The Mad Piper by Dr. MacDoo
Snuggle Song by Schnuffel Bunny
Slay Slay by Chipz
So, er, yeah. Really no other comment, beyond that they're all songs I want to do a full video for but can't - maybe I don't have enough vid material, maybe it drags way too long, maybe only part of the song works. Whatever the case, this video's basically an idea dump. I still like how it turned out.
Song: "Dreams Don't Come Easy" by MPress
Show: ...just stop asking that.
Ship?: Uh... no ship-suggestive lyrics at all, but Katilda and Blik have a hug clip, so... um?
Comments: FINALLY, Waffle gets himself some vid love. Wasn't as easy as it could have been making it work since the only episode I'm missing showcases Waffle a great deal, but I balanced it out with clips of the others. It's supposed to be Waffle singing it, but not necessarily about just him. Yes, I over-think these things.
This also marks the first occasion that I've dedicated a video wholly to an all-out bubblegum dance song. I don't count "Nothing's Missing" since that's a ballad and not really representative of the genre. It probably shouldn't have taken so long, but hey, Waffle's the bubblegum character and I was sitting around waiting for that one episode. Then the show went off-air and I gave up.
Song: Waterloo by E-Rotic
Show: ...seriously.
Ship?: Blik/Katilda
Comments: This REALLY shouldn't have taken me this long. Character with Napoleon complex who equates admitting he's in love to surrender, song comparing the singer with Napoleon and equating love with surrender... *sigh* REALLY, Irk? And this is your eight video? Try harder. I like how this one turned out, despite the inherent problem of Katilda only having two episodes. I hate early cancellations, I REALLY do.
And yes, I did use E-Rotic's version instead of ABBA's. I tried ABBA's, but something I couldn't place just wasn't right about it.
Song: Line Of Fire by E-Type feat. The Poodles
Show: ...yeah.
Ship?: Nothing. NOTHING. Not even the slightest HINT.
Comments: ...I don't even know what to say here. XD Um... I really am proud of this one. Yeah. It's awesome. I love this song. GO E-TYPE. Yes.
Song: Shake the Disease by Depeche Mode
Show: ...mmhmm. I should ditch this field.
Ship?: Gordon/Kimberly
Comments: ...Gordon/Kimberly, because I had also done a Gordon/Kimberly exactly a year before starting this one. So, um, yeah. ...nothing else to say. I didn't even give this its own post, as you can see, and didn't add it to this list until over two months after its creation. It was made for anniversary purposes, for Gordon/Kimberly shippers, and for my one friend who likes both Catscratch and Depeche Mode. That's IT. REALLY. NO ONE CARES. MOVE ALONG.
Song: Schadenfreude from Avenue Q
Show: Catscratch. ...I know.
Ship?: Nada.
Comments: It seems tradition that pretty much everything with any sort of AMV following gets the Avenue Q treatment sooner or later... here's my entry to the pile. Whether I should have done it or not still remains to be seen. HELL POINTS.
The more I look at it, the more proud I get - I just had to get over the mental hurdle of "wait a minute, did I just use SCHADENFREUDE in a Catscratch video?!" I guess. XD Ah, yay for being ridiculous.
Why am I still doing these.
I promise to one day stop being such a geek and do an AMV for something ELSE.
Oh, look, I kept my promise! Only took me four years!
Song: We Are Pilots by Shiny Toy Guns
Show: Soul Eater. ...not Catscratch? Who am I and who killed Irk?
Ship?: None intended. You could probably get some Maka/Crona out of it, but I don't ship them, so it wasn't the intention. Doesn't mean I'll punch you if you choose to interpret things that way. Eh. XD
Comments: I went two YEARS without vidding? What? The problem was, I ran out of material for Catscratch - only so much you can do with 40 11-minute shorts - and the other thing I've been obsessed with, Red vs. Blue, is a Halo machinima. You can NOT vid with bobbing helmets. I've seen people try, it doesn't work, it's just boring. Damn shame, since I have a lot of ideas for the characters there... it just doesn't work.
Anyway, what about THIS video? I can't think of much to say, really. It's my first Soul Eater video, but I think it's proof that I've come a long way since Ballad For You. It also showed me that I'm still learning new little tricks in Windows Movie Maker to assist in this. (It ALSO showed me that I cannot really work Vegas, and while I did intend to take lessons from a friend at some point, recent events have made me iffy on the idea of keeping illegal software on my laptop...) I love Crona, and I hope there's enough material for me to do more than one video for him. Even if most songs I associate with the character are hideously depressing. XD So, um, yeah, that's We Are Pilots. Hopefully there's not another two-year gap before my next one, since I had a lot of fun with this and I have plenty more ideas for all sorts of characters and moods and such. Not to mention, more than twice the amount of footage than Catscratch! That makes things simpler!
And this has been another topic brought to you by Irk Splee's inflated ego!
