And then when I was in high school I discovered Gardner's Annotated Alice and there was this cool 1969 edition with annotations, too, I found in an antique store, and I had to have a couple of cool shirts, and I got a big Collected Works of Lewis Carroll for my high school graduation.
After that, I collected a few more books.. but in the past year, I've just gone crazy! I got a lot more books (currently at 27 books) and movies (6, I think?), and I got those figures I posted on the Recent Purchases thread, and a wallet, and a pillow case and a friend let me borrow her Alice dress to wear, and I'm having another friend make an Alice dress for one of my dolls, and I still have those shirts I got in high school, and I want to get a pretty necklace from etsy and maybe a laptop bag, but probably not because it's $60... it doesn't actually sound like a lot when I put it together and read it through, which pleases me. Because I'm obsessed, but I don't spend -that- much money? Was there an Alice treasure I forgot to mention...? Nevertheless, this past year has been like an Alice frenzy for me, and I don't know why... -.-
Also, for the record, I have a children's book collection, too. I justify it by the fact that I'm in school to be an elementary school teacher, but it's really just a cop-out. They're all mine, and none of those kids I teach are getting their grubby little hands on them, I'll just take them to the library every day! ;D
I also have a few film adaptations. The Disney one, the Hallmark one (which is SO good as far as following the book goes), an animated one from the early 90's (I had it on VHS when I was little and then found the DVD at Walmart for $1, I can rip an iPod friendly version of it if you want) and a live-action one from the 70's that I have yet to watch.
