INTRO:
Hello. Just a week ago I have started a project of compiling every single Bubblegum dance song I have on mp3 and sorting it by Country of Origin and Year of Release. I am trying to figure out exactly how many Bubblegum dance songs I have and which year was the busiest for Bubblegum dance releases and which Country holds the most Bubblegum dance releases. Whew! This has been a very tedious process which (once finished) will be so worth it. There are a few minor snags: No ballads, No remixes (unless Bubblegum and very good), no extended versions (unless a remix) and everything that is chosen is based on my bias (duh). We all know that the Bubblegum genre has had its controversy---that is whether a song or artist is in fact BUBBLEGUM! I'm using my best judgment during the compiling of these tracks. As many of you already know, I am probably one of the most disorganized music collectors anywhere. I have all of my Bubblegum music mixed up in Mp3 DVDs ---around 20 of them. It is my ultimate goal to clean up this collection and put together something that is somewhat organized and suitable for possible sharing (though I won't get much into that discussion here).
OK. With that said, I have already gone through 6 DVDs. At the end of each day, I have created a chart to represent my findings. I hope you find this half as interesting as I do. Questions you may ask yourself is: Which was the most active year in Bubblegum history? Which country produced the most number of Bubblegum releases? Does the most active year represent the best year or no? This could possibly serve as a platform for some stimulating discussion later on down the road. One last thing: There is a little bit of controversy in regards to the exact placement for a few artists. The countries involved are: Denmark, Japan; Germany, Poland; United States; Sweden. I'm sure there will be more, but those are the ones I have encountered. I may go into detail about these discrepancies later on. Let's get started. I ask that you feel free to criticize this attempt or pose any question about this process. There are no dumb questions and I am more than prepared to answer them. I have asked myself if this is even possible. The answer to that is unknown up to this point, but ummm.. we'll see.
