Okay, back in September of 2007 my uncle's zoo was robed. They took two Fennec Foxes, five Tortoises (different kinds), a 10 month old Wallaby. Now, after a while police tried to track down these people. As there had been other places hit in the area. After some leads they busted into their first house. The house was FILLED with animals. Dead and alive. In one room they just hammered in pieces of wood into the wall for perches for the birds. They nailed fencing into the wooden floors for pens. At that bust they found almost all of the animals. Then they went to another house (apartment this one) and found more animals. Now of which were the people I am talking about though. With later questioning they found that these people sold their Tortoises to a couple in Arizona (mostly across the country). They broke in twice because they told the people in Arizona that the Tortoises were females, but they were both males. So they just sent them more animals for sorry gift. Luckily the people in Arizona sent back the Tortoises after hearing about all of this. The ones they got back were fine, but they are still missing some of their Leopard Tortoises which are more rare. The robbers said they don't know who they sold them to. As they said they were not keeping paper work on who they sold to. The Fennec foxes are mostly okay. But, the female is believed to still be under trauma... Their 10 month old Wallaby died a few weeks later from stress.
These sick people thought it would be a good idea for them to start their own business from stolen animals. They opened their own website "www.thoseanimalguys.com" in which school could contact them to go to their schools to teach kids about animals. Using other people's animals. What tipped off one person that got their animal stolen from them was, that these guys took a group photo with some of the animals they stole. This people saw the picture and totally knew it was their stolen animal! As people who have animals know... When you see your animal you know it is your animal. So that was mostly their down fall there! I went on the site before the police pulled it down and they went to about three schools before getting caught! SICK SICK PEOPLE! I wish their jail time was longer so they could have rotted in there for messing with animals! I believe they are now out of jail now!
