And we're back with another round of "all things computer related that Irk interacts with turn out to be haunted"!
This edition's problem - YouTube. Specifically, YouTube comments. Some asswaffle is managing to post nasty comments to other users on my friend's list under my username. Odd things about this little issue:
1) I never get logged out during these issues. I know from experience with YT account sharing (um, yeah, long story) and most account-based websites in general that if the account is logged into on one computer, if there's another computer that has it logged in, it logs out. But I never get signed out from this laptop...
2) The comments are all different and for the most part Catscratch related, leading me to believe this is an actual person, not a bot that just clings to a random account and goes mad.
3) The only people who get bombed are people on my friend list who mention being a part of CS fandom on their profile, again leading me to believe this is an actual person who must REALLY hate this show.
4) Another account is having similar issues as me. I've never met the person who owns the account and it doesn't even look like she's used it in ages before this started, but her account is one that obviously has ties to CS fandom (the profile is filled out in-character as Kimberly). This account spammed me, I got a little weirded out and annoyed because I'd seen this person around when I first started and thought she always seemed like a nice person, and then the day after I cleaned all those nasty comments off my videos, mine became a troll puppet. I wonder if her commenting me exposed me somehow...
I've changed my password like three times at this point and it hasn't fixed a damn thing. I'm getting SERIOUSLY annoyed. I've heard that YT's security sucks, but I always just assumed that was a case of people being too stupid to keep their passwords under lock and key. But this... I haven't handed out my password at all and the fact that I'm never logged out seems to be indicating bigger trouble.
Has anyone ever heard of issues like this? Have any idea what's going on? I don't want to contact YT about it unless I have to, really - being a bit of a music pirate for vidding purposes, I don't want to draw any more attention to myself with YT staff than necessary. (Like making sexual comments about cartoon cats is going to deter attention, though. Phht.)
