I feel somewhat odd asking this, but perhaps it can't hurt...
As some may have noticed, I have two major goals for this site as second-in-command - a complete song database for every artist, and a complete audio collection of said database. The second of those goals has a rather stupid wrench in it at the moment.
I've been working on compiling a complete discography list of Gummibar's work. (I do NOT envy Mitch when it comes to loading this stuff into the database, Jesus Christ. What's currently on the site is about half of it, and I'm not even including albums that are strictly translations with no new material.) I'm pretty sure I've tracked down every release the dumb bear has had so far, and I've managed to gather an MP3 of almost every song. But there's still two songs, both on the same disc, that elude me - "Einai Trelos O Germanos" and "Ellas Ole". The good news is, they aren't irrecoverably lost - there is a CD with them for sale!

But that's the issue, isn't it? It's for sale. And... well... honestly... despite my desperation for completion... I kinda... don't want it. Not at that price. Two bucks for MP3s, sure, but with shipping it's about 12 USD. Not AWFUL for a CD, and I almost did go for it, but then i:Levenless7 and Se:Side came up and obviously took priority.
I do want the songs. But I don't want the CD, if that makes any sense. Some bubblegum CDs make for great collector's items. This... I'd feel admittedly weird having it in my house. It's GUMMIBAR.
So, I see several options that don't involve me shelling out 12 dollars for something that I will then tuck behind my shelf so I don't have it staring at me while I sleep.
1) Someone else buys it. Who knows, maybe someone else likes Gummibar more than I do, and would be more than happy to purchase and rip this for the sake of the site.
2) Perhaps there'd be a way to open a donation pool? I know PayPal doesn't allow that, but maybe there's another way? Then a bunch of us pitch in a dollar or two, and while that will still require me to have the thing in my house (unless, again, someone else wants it), at least I didn't pay full price for the privilege. Would anyone be up for this?
3) In a perfect world, someone would manage to dig up MP3s of it and I can put this behind me without too much money spent. But I've been searching for a while without luck, so that sucks. I'm still digging.
What do you guys think? I'm afraid I can't offer prizes or anything, and I know it's an odd request, but it's for the sake of the site!
