Baby Alice - "Ice Cream" | 2020
"Ice Cream" is Baby Alice's newest sugary single, released this year. Although I got to know this extraordinary project recently, I was really excited about this release and immediately went to YouTube, where this song was being made available. I confess that when I pressed play on the song, I couldn't stop singing "Lick Lick Lick Ice cream" anymore, because it really is very captivating. Certainly, this song is one of the most captivating of the Baby Alice project, as it presents great and detailed musical arrangements, accompanied by an impeccable melody, with very funny and somewhat suggestive lyrics. One thing that impressed me a lot about this song, was that it brought a sound more influenced by the House music of today, but still maintaining its 'bubblegum eurodance' as always, the same can be better observed in the post-chorus synth blocks, which it brings a mesmerizing melody that was very common in eurodance of the 90s. As far as vocals are concerned, I loved it and enjoyed the mature voice drenched in sugar by the female vocalist. "Ice Cream" is my favorite single from Baby Alice because it is the most sticky and provocative bubblegum dance I have ever heard. I think this single will please all Bubblegum Dancers in the world, as it is very captivating and impeccable, in addition to being very memorable. So there is no need to refer it to a specific audience. What I found most cool about this song, was the reason that, in a way, they tried to fit into the genres that are now in trend, making use of some elements of it, but still maintaining their good old bubblegum dance. I would call the bubblegum productions produced by Baby Alice hereafter "Bubblegum Future". This song is a highlight you should never miss!
